Tuesday 17th April

The Hunt Museum Art and Book Club (A.B.C)
4-5pm Kids discover a different story each week and explore related ideas through arts and crafts.
€5 per session including all arts and crafts materials. Ages 4-6
Crafty Kid Loyalty Discount applies.

Thursday 19th April

Drawing and painting with Marjorie from 2pm-4pm
Majorie N Daly, Limerick Civic Trust Artist-in-Residence, this 10-week course will give participants a foundation in techniques in a small group setting.Fee: €175 includes all materials.

Friday 20th April

1pm - 2pm Dr. Dominque Bouchard, Hunt Museum Curator of Education and Outreach, will be giving a tour of the Ranks Exhibition. The Tour is free so come by and enjoy our wonderful look at some of Limericks' recent history.

Friday is also the last to enter your kids into the Doodle for the Hunt competition please email us for application forms and templates. Your child could be in with a great chance of winning some amazing prizes.

Saturday 21st April

Drop-in Art and Crafts
Saturdays in February, March and April 11.00am-12.30pm. It is a perfect opportunity for kids and parents to come to the museum and create together! Course Fee: €2 per child to do one of the prepared crafts, €3 to do both.  Includes accompanying adult and all materials. Suitable for ages 2+. Crafty Kid loyalty discount applies! This week we're making boats and sea-monsters.

Sunday 22nd April

COMA will be playing in the captains room from 3pm-5pm.
A programme of new pieces including ‘The Dining Controversy’ by Derek Ball inspired by The Hunt’s ‘Evolution of Dining’ exhibition & ‘2 Ping’ by CoMa favourite Paul Burnell inspired by the porcelain bowls on display in the Captain’s Room.

Young Curator’s Club
Calling all kids! Do you love museums? Do you love to explore, discover and learn? Then The Hunt Museum’s Young Curator’s Club just might be for you. This month-long after school club will introduce children to the way in which The Hunt Museum works and allow children to get involved directly in The Hunt’s community. Young Curators will be mentored by one of The Hunt Museum’s volunteer Docents, have the opportunity to develop expertise in The Hunt’s collection in an area of their choosing, and assist Docents giving family tours!
Fee: €15 per month
Suitable for ages 9+

The Crushed Bull Exhibition
An exhibition of Artworks by Prisoners in Ireland and two Post Release Centres. 26 April-10 May. The Hunt Off Site at Raggle Taggle Gallery, Sarsfield St., Limerick.

Competitions:

The Horribles at The Hunt Museum
Hester and Hector Horrible have snuck into the museum! The shadows come alive as creepy, amazing creatures fly, and run, and jump from floor to floor…
The Competition: Tell us a funny/scary story about the Horribles and what happened to them in the museum.
Who can Enter? Kids from 5 to 13 years old (who want to tell us a funny, scary, crazy fictional story). The winner in each category will win a prize and a Certificate of Achievement. Their class will win a visit to the museum and their story will be displayed in the Museum!

A prize-giving ceremony will take place on Saturday 16 June - where the winners and honourable mentions will read their entries!

Doodle 4 The Hunt
Calling all doodlers! You could design The Hunt Museum’s new kids’ logo and be seen by loads of people! You could also win an art set and free visit to the Museum for your class!
The Competition: Use the template provided to design The Hunt Museum’s new 2012/2013 kids’ logo!
Who can Enter? Kids 13 years old and under. Prizes for all entrants include a voucher for free family visit to the Hunt Museum, and an invitation to the prize-giving event at the Hunt Museum where the finalist and winner will be announced!
