This is the pilot phase of Limerick City Council’s Archive Digitisation project aimed at expanding access to our archive holdings. 

A selection of collections from Limerick City Council’s own records as well as private papers acquired by the City Archives have been scanned in colour. Some material previously captured in microfilm has also been included.

All typescript material has had Optical Character Recognition Software (OCR) applied which has facilitated full text retrieval on the City Council Minute Books from August 1926- December 1972.

 

DjVu

A DjVu viewer is required to view and print files in DjVu format. DjVu (pronounced "déjà vu") is a digital document format with advanced compression technology and high performance value. DjVu allows for the distribution on the Internet and on DVD of very high resolution images of scanned documents, digital documents, and photographs. DjVu viewers are available for the web browser, the desktop, and PDA devices.
