The Minute Books of Limerick City Council spanning from 1841 to 1972 is the first collection to be made available on line.
The minutes contain the deliberations, correspondence and decisions of the City Council with a wealth of detail on the development of Limerick City, its people and local politics.
From 1923 the minute books are typed which facilitated Optical Character Recognition Software to be applied- full text keyword searching.
The 2008 phase of this project also includes the digitisation of the oldest surviving collection relating to Limerick City Council- L/OC Limerick Corporation ( Pre Reform), and L/MP the Commissioners of St. Michael’s Parish. A collection of rate books has also been digitised.
