Liam Flannery, chairman of the Market Quarter said the re-development of Limerick’s famous Milk Market presented a great opportunity to act as a catalyst for change in the area.
“For change to occur in an area like this with a diverse number of businesses, we needed everyone on board and Limerick city’s relevant stakeholders to become our strategic partners,” he said. “We feel that the overall result can generate a positive image for Limerick city, retain business and jobs within the city centre and create a community template for other areas of Limerick City. We’re delighted to launch our inaugural event, our Mardi Gras Street Party and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Limerick’s best party on July 3rd.”

Speaking at the launch of the Mardi Gras Street Party, Mayor of Limerick, Cllr Kevin Kiely said:
“Congratulations to the Market Quarter, the businesses involved have a solid work ethic yet they have a creative attitude that allows them to think about what can happen in the city with a fresh outlook,” he said.
